Welcome

Hello everyone and welcome to Capture and Control!

We’ve got a lot of cool stuff already set to post and more on the way, but I wanted to take a brief moment to introduce the blog and the current writers, and give an idea of what we’re all about.

This blog was designed after a number of conversations about the kind of material that’s out there for Warhammer 40,000. Our goal is to provide as much quality content as possible about the game and the hobby; simply, we want to create a space where there’s something interesting for everyone involved in this game. From the hoariest longbeard to the freshest new recruit, our hope is that when you come to Capture and Control, you’ll find something worthwhile.

The staff:

Disdainful – Dis has a gaming pedigree that is long and detailed. He’s organized events both on a local and regional level, including tournaments, campaigns, and leagues, and spent more time talking about the ‘state of the game’ than is probably healthy. His contribution to C&C will focus on events, results from the local SoCal/Pasadena scene, Battle Reports, and op/ed material, as well as the occasional flurry of painting content.

Overwatch – Overwatch is a tournament regular and long-time veteran. Over the last year he's been busy expanding his massive Salamanders army and testing every conceivable way to burn and smash things with flamers/meltaguns and hammers, respectively. His contribution to C&C will focus on rule/metagame concepts, armylist discussions, tournament reports from a player's point of view, and various hobby material.

Leela - Leela cut her wargaming teeth cutting people's hedz off at Warmachine/Hordes and has only recently begun to delve into the 41st Millenium, where she's been seeking the meanest possible list with which to sate her competitive nature. Her contribution to C&C will focus on hobby material, painting, basing, and mold-making, as well as beginner and "101"-concepts.

And that's it! We hope you'll come back, and that when you do, you'll find something worth reading!
