I actually didn't expect to be attending the Bay Area Open...
I actually didn't expect to be attending the Bay Area Open despite buying my tickets several months ago. It just wasn't looking like it would work out financially, professionally, and personally with my family. Lucky for me everything fell into place this last weekend, I will be driving up with Dis and Sand Friday and participating in the 40k Championship event. I think everyone reading this is probably aware but the BAO is also an ETC qualifier plus the winner receives a 1750 point army (painted!) of their choice. Nice prize pool and 117 players signed up as of this posting means it is going to be a great event! The only problem is my painting motivation left me when I thought I would no longer be attending and now, Wednesday night, I have quite a bit to finish... After the break is the run down on what part(s) of my GK army needs paint.
Well if I want to run the list I have planned I need my Grand Master to be complete. Unfortunately that meant taking off the really cool double headed NFHalberd I had made and replacing it with a NFSword since that has proven to be the far superior choice. Also up are 3 more Warriors (I use Marauder models), 1 more DCA (I use Dark Elf Corsairs), a Razorback, another Dread and it's arms, 3 25mm objectives, 1 40mm objective, and maybe, maybe 3 Crusaders.
An overview of what I need to finish.
If I have time to finish my display board, doubtful, the Skull Tower and Daemon Prince will be the center piece my GK army is attacking.
It's been so long since I painted any of my Grey Knights that I needed to get models out to see what they were supposed to look like!
Here is a close up of the project at 7:30 pm.
9:00pm.
Ok, back to the grind.

Good luck!
ReplyDeleteIndeed. Good luck my friend. I'm buying, building, and painting a Dreadknight tonight for the Indy Open on Saturday so I feel ya :)
ReplyDeleteWow. Buying, building, and painting in a single night? There was a tournament 2.5 years back at GE where I built and painted 3 SW rhinos in a night, that was hell. The only saving grace was that my Grey OSH primer was also the base color for the army so that saved quite a bit of time.
DeleteGood luck at the Indy, any chance I'll see you at WargamesCon?
It's a 50/50 at this point. I've got my fingers crossed but I'm attending a lot of events this year :)
