News: GW Advanced Orders, we were right!

A little while back I wrote a short blurb about the rumored Holiday Megaforces and Army Sets.  The rumors are true!  The Megaforces are up for pre-order now, unfortunately though we are only getting the 2 that we leaked previously :(

So we get a Space Marine and Dark Eldar Megaforce.  If my maths are correct they both offer a slight discount over buying the items separately.  $215 each.

On the Warhammer Fantasy Battle side we have the same armies as were rumored.  However now we have pictures and the run down of the contents of the Army Sets.

Again $215 a piece but the sets are loaded.  A Dragon and a Bell, respectively.  Here are the links!

Brother Erekose here. Overwatch has had a few articles where he’s talked about 40k and shooting, but has failed to mention the Dark Eldar venom when it comes to the shooty direction 40k has taken. I pointed it out to him, and he said, why don’t *you* do something about it?  So, if it’s going to get done right, and I’m the DE guy at our FLGS then...

New Hobby Tools from GW

GW put up a bunch of "new" and new hobby tools on their site including:

'Eavy metal brush set
'Eavy metal painting guide
The Paint Station +
The Hobby tools case that came out 2 years ago is now re-released
2 "new" cases one for 40k one for Fantasy, they are the same cases they have been releasing for 5+ years now but in different colors.

Despite the fact many of these are just re-releases of products from yesteryear it is nice to see some of them come back and the brush set doesn't look half bad, if it weren't so overpriced!  Here is the link.

Necrons: You're (probably) doing it wrong.

There has been a lot of conjecture, math hammer, and theory hammer running around about Necrons and how good they are or how bad they are.  One of the things being spouted all over the blogs and forums is that the Night Scythe and Doom Scythe are terrible because they are AV11 and lack Quantum Shielding.  I am here to tell you that if you think that about AV11 vehicles you're doing it wrong, and chances are you've been doing 40k wrong for nearly the entirety of 5th edition.  I'll explain why I think this after the break.

Armies for Sale!

It's that time again!  I realized my minis collection has expanded beyond a reasonable size once again and with Necrons finally here I decided it was time to ship some armies off.  More after the break.
