40k Battle Report - Space Wolves V. Blood Angels

Hello Everyone!

Much like Buzz-saw and Dynamo, you asked for ‘em and you got ‘em: Battle Reports on CNC begin now.

Overwatch and I finally set down this last Tuesday to a 2000 point battle with the ‘armies of the moment’ to start the madness, and Lola was on-hand to take care of the photography. In this battle Logan Grimnar himself leads a Great Company of Space Wolves to a frozen northern outpost. Rumors have been flying of maltreatment of Imperial Citizens there at the hands of a garrison force of Blood Angels, and Grimnar is a champion of the people of the Imperium if he is anything. Should the rumors be true, his retribution on the Sons of Sanguinius will be… Cold as Ice!

Top 3 Armies?

The poll we had up for you to vote for the top armies in your area has officially closed.  While by no means a scientific poll, and only having 50 participants, the results were in my opinion fairly spot on.  The question posed was "What army(ies) are dominating your tournament scene?"  The top three were:

1. Space Wolves
2. Imperial Guard
3. Chaos Space Marines

New Player 101: List Building and Synergy

A lot of war gaming websites talk about "lists," how to build them, how not to build them, what's best about this or that list, what's bad about this or that list, and the ever present synergy.  To a new player the vastness of the internet can be both a blessing and a curse, and this is more true with net lists than in any other case.  What this article will, hopefully, do is help new players (and even some veterans I know...) build better lists.  First we should determine what I mean by a better list.

The Lowdown - New Plastic Seekers of Slaanesh

Hey everybody!

The plastic shavings have finally settled and the preview Seekers of Slaanesh are in the bag, which brings to a close this month's cycle of Black Box content previews. These models were an interesting build, made more interesting today after I spoke to my GW contact and got a little perspective on this round of releases...

Preview: NEW PLASTIC BLOOCRUSHERS!!!

Last week Dis put up a post outlining the new plastic Daemon Prince from the black box GW sent out.  Today let's take a look at the new plastic Blood Crushers!  First off there are three sprues, one for each member of the command team, but not to worry, each sprue also has enough bits to make them into normal squad members as well.  Let's take a look.

Storm Wardens Charity Auction

Not sure if everyone who visits here also follows BoLS and their affiliated writers but this is a great auction for a good cause check it out!  I contributed already and if I had found out about it sooner I would have offered my painting/modeling services or simply some models to the project.  Unfortunately I didn't hear about this until about two weeks ago.  Anyways check it out for sure it is, as I said, for a good cause. Space Wolves Tournament Report

Last Saturday Game Empire Pasadena held their monthly RTT.  I hadn't been able to play in a tournament since May so I was very excited to play.  I decided to take my Space Wolves to the event because I had only used them in one tournament and several league games but mostly because in the last month I had painted over 1000 points in Wolves.  I will go into my painting and modeling blitzkrieg in another article so I won't cover it here but the Long Fangs, HQs, Skyclaws, one Grey Hunter squad, and all the Rhinos were newly built and painted.  Enough chatter, onto the list.

The Lowdown - Plastic Daemon Prince

Hellooooooo Everybody!

It has been a hectic couple of months! The Avellorn Campaign finally came to a conclusion; many games have been played, my Tyranids found a new home in le bon petit France, and I've amassed another couple armies, in addition to moving!

The dust has finally settled though, and I thought I would kick-off the return to the world with a breakdown of the new plastic Daemon Prince! We just got our black box and I couldn't wait to get my clippers on this guy; there's been a lot of buildup to this model and I wanted to see it for myself.

And They Shall Know No Fear: Troops Choices part 2

During the last part of this series we discussed the Tactical Squad and how I don't believe it is truly as bad as people proclaim.  The second troops choice available to Space Marine players are Scout Squads which basically come in two variations, snipers and non-snipers.  As with Tactical Squads people generally don't like Scout Squads but as usual I disagree with them.

We're Back.

After a long hiatus, CNC is returning with a lot of new insight into the world of 40k and maybe even some Fantasy too!  During our hiatus much 40k has been played including leagues and tournaments, models have been built and painted, and lessons have been learned.  The new BA codex has had time to seep into the metagame and as is usually the case with new codices the sky was not falling after all.  So if you are still following stay tuned for more!
